Privacy policy

This policy explains what CleanCut Safety Inc. collects when you use cleancutsafety.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. We are a corporation registered in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• When you order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you provide one, and what you bought. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor — we never see or store them.
• When you subscribe: your email address.
• When you browse: standard analytics data such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
• When you contact us: whatever you choose to tell us.

Why we collect it

To take payment, make and ship your order, answer your questions, prevent fraud, meet our tax and record-keeping obligations, and understand which parts of the site are working. If you have subscribed, to send you occasional email.

We do not sell your personal information. We have never done this and do not intend to.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run the business: our ecommerce platform (Shopify), our payment processor, the carrier delivering your parcel, and our analytics and email providers. Each receives only what it needs. Some of these providers process or store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to that country's laws.

We will also disclose information where we are legally required to.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember preferences, and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though the cart will stop working properly if you block the essential ones.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as Canadian tax and business record requirements demand, currently six years. Email subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained on our providers' standard schedules.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

To make a request, email us. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date below. Material changes will be announced on the site.
